Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal 

We think so. Others will disagree. They’ll say that Barrett is the best player in this deal.

To be sure, he’s the biggest name. He’s got the most potential. Is he the most impactful player in this deal? 

We think not. Buddy Hield is one of the best movement shooters in the NBA. In all likelihood, he’ll help the Knicks more than Barrett would next season.

Meanwhile, McConnell is a solid backup point guard as well. 

With that said, the Knicks are leaving Barrett’s potential on the table here. That’s why they’re landing an unprotected first-round pick in addition to two quality rotation players.
