The Bulls are receiving a lot of players in this deal. They really only care about one. 

Although, De’Anthony Melton is solid. He’s also young enough to be part of a rebuild. Meanwhile, Tucker is a good veteran mentor for a newly rebuilding Bulls team to roster. 

After all, make no mistake – this would mean a full-scale teardown for the Bulls. We’d assume that DeMar DeRozan was heading out of town too. More than anything, the Bulls do this deal to land Maxey.

He could be the centrepiece of the rebuild. Maxey is much younger than LaVine and has flashed the potential to get at least on his level in due time.

All told this is a smart deal for the Bulls if they’re looking to rebuild. Even if they are parting with a proven commodity.
