In that event, they probably won’t land in the lottery. So, the question becomes this: how likely are the Rockets to land a player as good as Johnson with a non-lottery selection?
After all, the Nets aren’t the only team who owes first-round picks. The Oklahoma City Thunder own the Rockets’ next selection – with the same top-4 selection.
The Rockets won’t aim to retain that selection: they’re trying to take a step forward next season.
