Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

It’s hard to say. Some fans would likely suggest that they shouldn’t do this deal at all. 

After all, the Blazers may have Damian Lillard. The Lakers have got LeBron James. We think. Actually, that’s not entirely certain at the moment. 

Recent rumors have indicated that James could entertain retirement. If he does, this is a no-brainer. Whoever is left on the board will give the Lakers a significantly brighter future as they move into a rebuild.

On the other hand, even if James is still active, this could be justified. Simons would be the most dynamic offensive guard he’d played with since Kyrie Irving.

Meanwhile, whoever the Lakers select in this spot would benefit from James’ tutelage tremendously.
