At this moment, the Los Angeles Lakers look outmatched against the Denver Nuggets. They’re down 3-0 in the Western Conference Finals with the NBA offseason rapidly nearing.
Who could blame them? The Nuggets roster a superstar in his prime. Nikola Jokic may be the best basketball player in the world. It’s a mantle that LeBron James held for a long time.
During this run, he’s looked a little compromised. James being as effective as he currently is is nothing short of a marvel. At 38, he’s still a star. With that said, he’s not what he used to be.
Meanwhile, D’Angelo Russell hasn’t been entirely reliable, either. The Lakers could stand to upgrade at point guard.
Perhaps they keep Russell as a reserve, or perhaps they let him walk as a free agent.
Either way, here’s a sign and trade that lands them Fred VanVleet of the Toronto Raptors.
