Why The Philadelphia 76ers Do The Deal 

Oh boy.This is ugly for the Sixers. Nobody can deny that. It’s barely better than watching Harden walk for nothing in free agency. 

Still, it is better. Meanwhile, that’s the alternative. There is no means for the Sixers to get value for Harden this summer. They either keep Harden, or they suffer a tremendous loss. 

With that said Paul can still space the floor and pass. In an offense that will be focused on Joel Embiid, he could hold some value.

If Tyrese Maxey continues to develop, the Sixers could continue to contend next season even after losing Harden. 

That’s about as much as they could hope for in a sign and trade.
