Why The Orlando Magic Do The Deal 

Realistically, yes. It’s time to cut ties with Jonathan Isaac. The injury history is just too discouraging. Isaac hasn’t seen regular NBA action in years.

By now, the Magic are ready to move on. The trade value they can receive in return for Isaac will be minimal, considering the injuries he’s experienced. Still, his non-guaranteed money in the remaining years of his contract could help to facilitate a deal.

They could stand to do so with some shooting. Orlando has a ton of playmaking on their roster, but very little play-finishing. Adding an elite shooter would help balance this roster. 

As it happens, Hield is one of the best shooters in the game. Managing to add a talent with the dynamic abilities that a sharpshooter of his caliber provides wouldn’t be just adding any regular shooter.
