With that said, this is not the first time Gobert has been a source of tension. During his time with the Utah Jazz, it was frequently suggested that he didn’t get along with Donovan Mitchell. We weren’t in the locker room, so we don’t know what happened. 

We do know that at the onset of COVID-19, Gobert opted to make light of the pandemic. That ruffled plenty of feathers. Gobert didn’t just create tension in his own locker room – he created it throughout the league.

We don’t mean to rag on the guy. Gobert could be a nice person. Some people just end up being misunderstood no matter where they go. 

With Al Horford set to turn 37 in June, it’s rapidly nearing a time when the Celtics will be forced to make a change at the center position. Why not pursue an elite rim protector like Gobert?
