Let’s talk about pick swaps. Some call them window dressing. Teams include them in trades so that in the eyes of fans, the return looks bigger. We think that’s a little cynical.
This is the NBA. It’s a generally unpredictable place. All it takes is a key injury or a trade demand, and that swap could convey in the receiving team’s favor.
Besides, the Bucks are receiving plenty outside of swap rights here. In total, they’re receiving five first-round picks (one of which is protected) and three pick swaps along with two intriguing young players.
Considering that one of those picks is their own, this would be an intriguing package for Milwaukee.
