Of course, the Spurs won’t do this deal if they get the number one pick. They will be drafting Victor Wembanyama in that event. 

They’d probably take Scoot Henderson second as well. He projects as a similar player to Morant.

Meanwhile, they’d be able to keep him on a rookie contract for several years and hang onto their future assets. 

On the other hand, any other pick could be up for grabs. Why not flip it for Morant? After all, we already know this kid can perform at an All-NBA level.
