For the Wolves, this is a case of addition by subtraction. 

They’re losing the best player in this deal. Still, this move should improve their roster construction. They’re correcting the mistake they made by pairing Towns and Gobert in the first place. 

Now, they can start Gobert alongside Jaden McDaniels in the front court. That should give them an elite defense. Meanwhile, adding Bogdanovic’s floor spacing should make life easier for Edwards. 

The same holds for Burks. This deal also makes the Timberwolves deeper. Still, the three first-round picks they’re receiving are perhaps most important.
