DeRozan may not fit the exact description of the player we’ve got the Phoenix Suns targeting. 

At the same time, DeRozan can still get to the paint. He doesn’t use pure athleticism to get there anymore, but he’s such a crafty finisher that he can make it work. 

Moreover, the Suns are just purely aggregating talent here. In adding another offensive star, they’re building a super team. They should be able to work out any fit concerns later. 

Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks only do this deal if they retain Kyrie Irving in free agency. Assuming that they can, they’ll look to bolster the roster around him and Luka Doncic.
