Why The Charlotte Hornets Do The Deal 

Realistically, the Hornets won’t do this deal unless Ball wants out of town. If they think they can keep him happy, they’ll prefer to hang onto him. 

With that said, he may be unhappy. Why wouldn’t he be? The Hornets have been mediocre for years. They haven’t prioritized their young players either, so the future isn’t as bright as it could be. 

Arguably, it’s time to start over. If the Hornets agree, this is a good deal. They may not be getting Wembanyama or Henderson, but they’d still be landing a player like Amen Thompson, Brandon Miller or Cameron Whitmore. 

They’d also be landing Vassell. He’s an extremely enticing young player. Throw in two extra first-round picks, and the Hornets may have to consider doing this deal.
