The NBA is full of elite athletes. That much is obvious – this is the most competitive basketball league in the world.
With that said, basketball intelligence travels far in this league. It counts for a lot. Players with elite floor vision will always benefit their teams.
Players like, for example, LaMelo Ball of the Charlotte Hornets. His sense of where his teammates are at in any given moment is uncanny. Ball knows where every player on the floor is at once.
Of course, intelligence counts in coaching, too. The San Antonio Spurs have been able to speak to that for a long time.
