As it stands, the Memphis Grizzlies are at home watching the NBA playoffs, while the Los Angeles Lakers are up 1-0 on the Golden State Warriors.
In a way, they were underdogs. That may sound strange to some. The Grizzlies were the second seed. Shouldn’t they have been favored over the seventh? Ordinarily, yes.
With that said, the Lakers are no ordinary seventh seed. This team rosters LeBron James. The Lakers fixed what looked like a broken roster at this year’s deadline.
With that in mind, a first-round exit is still a disappointment for the Grizzlies. It seems to also be motivating them to make some roster changes of their own this summer.
Dillon Brooks will not be back in the offseason as he enters free agency, which means they will need to find an answer on the wing.
