Why The Milwaukee Bucks Do The Deal
On Milwaukee’s end, this makes sense no matter what else happens. If Middleton resigns, that’s fine. They can play him at the 2. With Anunoby at the 3 and Antetokoumnpo at the 4, they’ll have one of the biggest lineups in the NBA.
If Middleton walks, this deal has them replacing him. Granted, they’re doing so at the expense of Holiday. Still, the Bucks would be getting younger, and that has its own value.
If Middleton was to depart, the ideal outcome to salvage that situation would be to engage in a sign-and-trade, as previously mentioned. Could they fill a backcourt need to replace Holiday?
After all, we don’t know if Antetokoumnpo will request a trade in time. With that in mind, this deal could be preparation for the future. Basically, no matter what happens, this deal could be justified from the Bucks’ perspective.
NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: Jrue Holiday, Milwaukee Bucks, Portland Trail Blazers & Toronto Raptors Updates
The Bucks are very limited in their trade assets through 2028 since they have all of their first-round picks either completely outgoing, or tied to swaps with the New Orleans Pelicans due to the Holiday trade.
What does it do for the Raptors?
