Sign Trey Lyles

We just saw how effective Lyles can be in the playoffs. In fact, the Sacramento Kings, at times, looked better with Lyles at the five than they did with Domantas Sabonis.

This is a solid floor-stretching big man who is capable on the defensive end, as well. Lyles isn’t a flashy name. He doesn’t have the star upside that some people believe Wood does.

With that said, he is certainly likely to be more reliable. It may be a moot point. The Kings may be focused on trying to retain Lyles. Still, if they’re not, the Mavericks should make a run at him.

Wood didn’t fill an anchor role as a five for the Mavericks until they were put in a spot where they had to use him in that way with Maxi Kleber tearing his hamstring. Dallas would still need to find that shot blocking center they lack.
