Why The Washington Wizards Do The Deal 

We’ve already spelled this one out. Feel free to move on to the next slide if you’re so inclined. 

It’s time for the Wizards to move on. If they make this deal, it won’t be the only deal they make this summer. Frankly, it should be the deal before “the deal”. 

Imagine the Wizards made this deal. Now, imagine they trade Bradley Beal for as much draft capital as they can. That would be a summer that would get the Wizards off to a good start in their rebuilding process. 

After all, Bamba is still young enough to improve. He’s got plenty of potential. Meanwhile, this pick from the aging Lakers is an especially valuable asset.

At some point, the Wizards will need to enter a rebuild, whether by Beal asking to be traded, or by coming to the realization that it’s time to do so. This deal adds more assets to do so.
