Los Angeles Clippers fans should hold onto their seats. They may be in for a rocky NBA offseason. The team has officially been eliminated from the playoffs. This was not supposed to be a team that made a first-round exit. Who knows where they’ll go from here?
Nobody is necessarily safe. Rumors are suggesting that Tyrone Lue could be on his way out. The Clippers could do anything.
They could even trade one of Kawhi Leonard or Paul George. After all, this duo’s combined inability to stay healthy has been a major problem for the Clippers. It wouldn’t be a shock if they broke them up. Here are 3 teams we think could target George.
Sacramento Kings
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether the Kings will advance to the second round. With that said, the stakes are lower here. The Sacramento Kings broke a 16-year playoff drought this season. They’re younger than the Clippers, and De’Aaron Fox is hurt. If they lose in the first round, they won’t blow up their core.
They could enhance it. The Kings could be a major move away from serious title contention. If so, George would be the perfect fit.

After all, this team’s offense is already elite. George would enhance it. Still, the Kings would mostly be interested in his defensive acumen. They could stand to improve on that end of the floor. Of course, any team acquiring George would be interested in his two-way impact.
Memphis Grizzlies
This may make as much sense as any scenario we can think of. Like the Kings, the Memphis Grizzlies are still fighting for their playoff lives. Also like the Kings, they’re a higher seed that may lose to a lower one with considerably more playoff experience.
The Grizzlies will not be blowing their core up. if they make any major changes, it will be as buyers, not sellers. Also like the Kings, they should be looking at George.

Realistically, he’d plug precisely into Dillon Brooks’ role. The difference is that George is an extremely consistent three-point shooter. That would be relevant for the next team here as well.
New York Knicks
Yes, that was a dig at RJ Barrett. Sorry, but we’re not sorry. Barrett has had some nice games in the first round against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Still, he’s been wildly unreliable as a member of the New York Knicks.
Of course, George can be unreliable in his own right. He can be trusted to deliver on the court. it’s just difficult to trust him to get on the floor in the first place.
