Why The Cleveland Cavaliers Do The Deal
Of course it does. The Cavaliers need a wing. It’s been the talk of their season. Caris LeVert is a talented isolation scorer, but he’s far too inefficient to start. Isaac Okoro struggles with his shot, and Cedi Osman is simply not a starter.
Johnson is. As a matter of fact, he’s one of the best shooters in the NBA. Johnson is also a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions.
Doing this deal likely requires the Cavs to move Evan Mobley to the five. That’s fine. In all likelihood, that’s what they’ll eventually have to do anyway.
There are too many instances the Cavs are facing a lack of floor spacing when they are playing two bigs together. With two of the more shifty guards in the NBA, they need to open up the floor with a sharpshooter instead of a paint clogger to maximize their strengths.

Johnson would bring the Cavs a needed answer at the four spot, but there would still be a need to address the other spot on the wing.
Should the Nets help them make the move?
