Why The Phoenix Suns Do The Deal
Speaking of superteams… The Suns would unequivocally be forming one here. Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and LaVine would be the most talented offensive trio in the NBA.
Some will have concerns about the fit between Booker and LaVine. We won’t. Each is enough of a playmaker to make this work. Meanwhile, LaVine’s ability to get to the bucket could be the missing piece for this squad. Slide Kevin Durant over the four and that’s a dynamic lineup.
They’ll need to replace Ayton. That’s fine. If the Suns can find even a portion of his production in free agency, it’ll be worth their while to flip the big man for LaVine. Arguably, they’d become the most talented team in the league.
The Suns would essentially be determining that paying a premium for the center position isn’t the right course of action and instead would be loading up on the most star-studded personnel that would make executing half-court defense a nightmare for the opposition.

What makes LaVine such an intriguing fit on a stacked team is that he can knock down both catch-and-shoot and pull-up 3s at a high volume, while being an explosive threat to attack closeouts, play out of half-court actions, and run out in transition.
