In the NBA, nothing matters more than talent. Almost every season, the team that wins the NBA title features an elite player or two. It almost never fails. The first step towards building a champion is to acquire the best players you can find.
With that said, even the most talented roster can have a hole. Just look at the Phoenix Suns. One would assume that a team with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker on it couldn’t possibly fail.
The Suns may not fail. This team could still win the NBA championship. With that said, if they don’t, it could be because they don’t feature a guard who can consistently put pressure on the rim.
With the Los Angeles Clippers not having Kawhi Leonard or Paul George available to play in their first-round series against the Suns, Phoenix has a 3-1 series lead and will walk into the Western Conference Semi-Finals as a result.
The Clippers’ addition of Russell Westbrook has kept them respectable without Leonard or George. Given the Suns also have superstars that tend to deal with injuries, like Durant and Chris Paul, it may be of benefit to add another dynamic threat into the fold.
Could Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls be that guard?
