Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal
If the Lakers win the championship this season, they probably don’t do this deal. Why give up assets when they’re a title-caliber team?
Something tells us they won’t. At least, it’s unlikely. As much improvement as Pelinka made to this squad at the deadline, they’re still a little short of the league’s highest bar.
Acquiring Rozier should get them closer. This is an outstanding shot creating guard who can space the floor for James. He’ll make the Lakers a better team.
Provided that they can retain D’Angelo Russell, that is. Rozier isn’t meant to replace him here.
