Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal 

If Robinson didn’t seem to want out of New York, the conversation here may be different. 

He does. With that in mind, the Knicks would do well to flip him in any event. The fact that they’re getting the best player in the trade here is an added bonus. 

After all, Porzingis can replace much of his rim protection – but he also spaces the floor. This would be a significant upgrade for the Knicks. 

Imagine Randle and Brunson in a system with five-out spacing. If Porzingis can stay healthy, this deal could make the Knicks serious contenders next season.
