Why The Toronto Raptors Do The Deal
The Raptors resisted rebuilding at this year’s deadline. That doesn’t mean they have to do the same this summer.
After all, this team has just finished up a disappointing season. The Raptors could make some smaller changes, hire a new Head Coach, and keep their core. On the other hand, they should at least be tempted to blow it up.
Moreover, this deal doesn’t force them into the league’s basement. In fact, Simons might be the half-court creator this team needs.
Still, that’s not really the point here. The point is to get younger and future-focused. By that logic, the highlight of this return is Shaedon Sharpe.
