Why The Atlanta Hawks Do The Deal
It is entirely possible that Young can change. It feels less likely that he’ll do so in Atlanta.
The pecking order here is well established. It may be too late to change it. The Hawks may simply need a fresh start.
If their front office agrees, this is a good deal. Herro isn’t the same level of player as Young, but he is a more natural off-ball player. He should be a better fit alongside Dejounte Murray in the backcourt.
Meanwhile, the Hawks get two first-round picks for downgrading here. Even Martin is a solid 3-and-D wing who should find a place in this team’s rotation.
