If you’re selected in the NBA lottery, there will be high expectations for your career.
Some would argue that those expectations are too high. Scouts get it wrong on an annual basis. Players will be selected in any given lottery that doesn’t end up being stars – or even starters.
For example, look at James Bouknight of the Charlotte Hornets. He’s a recent lottery selection.
So far, he hasn’t even approached the expectations associated with that honor.
At the same time, it’s possible that Bouknight only needs an opportunity. For whatever reason, it doesn’t feel like the Hornets trust him.
