Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time these two sides came together for a trade. 

In fact, they made an extremely significant one relatively recently. The Luka Doncic / Trae Young trade changed the league’s landscape. Realistically, the two will always be tied to each other because of it. 

Some will say the Mavericks won the deal. In fairness, Doncic has been more productive than Young so far. Sure, the Hawks got an extra first-round pick, but they used it on Cam Reddish, who they ended up trading for little in return. 

Still, both have been superstar playmakers. Ironically, both suffer from similar defects as well.
