The goal is to win. If you’re making that trade, it typically means that you aren’t winning enough. Somewhere along the line, something went wrong. 

Perhaps the Timberwolves erred by trading for Rudy Gobert. It does not appear as if he’s a good fit alongside Towns. Now, they’re without the assets to improve their roster without doing something drastic. 

On the other hand, the Celtics have done everything right during the time that they’ve rostered Brown. He seems to simply be unhappy for personal reasons.

That’s perfectly fair, but unfortunately, there’s little that Boston can do about it.
