Why The Indiana Pacers Do The Deal 

Of course, this isn’t strictly a rebuilding move for the Pacers. They’re acquiring Draymond Green. 

He should be a perfect mentor for this young Pacers squad. With that said, that won’t be his only function here, either. The Pacers could use a 4 – Green would likely be the starter. 

Still, that’s not their main incentive here. That would be Jonathan Kuminga. The Pacers may not typically opt to rebuild, but if a talent of this magnitude is on the table, they probably shouldn’t resist. 

After all, Kuminga has flashed impressive upside in his brief NBA career. This would be exactly the type of two-way wing that tends to dominate the NBA.

Adding him to a young core already featuring Tyrese Haliburton, Benedict Maturin, and the Pacers’ upcoming lottery pick would give them one of the league’s brightest futures.
