Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

It feels strange to say that Davis and LeBron James aren’t a good pairing. They won an NBA championship together. 

With that said, they’ve accomplished very little since. One way or another, we’ll simply say this: Davis is not the type of star that James has usually succeeded with. 

Lillard is. His off-ball value means that he compliments James when he has the ball. Of course, Lillard can create for himself when James needs a rest.

Their dynamic shouldn’t be much different than the one James shared with Kyrie Irving.

This deal will leave the Lakers in need of a big. Surely they can find one. They could sign and trade D’Angelo Russell for one with Lillard in town. Alternatively, they could keep him as a sixth man and find one on a budget. 

Should the Blazers pass on Davis in favor of this rebuilding package?
