Why The Atlanta Hawks Do The Deal
Of course, the Hawks only recently made a major change. Last summer, they acquired Dejounte Murray from the San Antonio Spurs.
The idea was to pair Trae Young with an elite point-of-attack defender. That makes sense in theory. Unfortunately, Murray’s poor shooting has made him a questionable offensive fit alongside Young.
Harris’ spacing would help. He’s one of the most reliable shooting 4s in the NBA. That’s half of the equation for Atlanta here.
The other half is to acquire a first-round pick. That makes up for some of what they gave up to land Murray.
