Why The Boston Celtics Do The Deal 

Frankly, Boston probably isn’t interested in this deal unless Brown wants out. 

There is reason to believe he could. Recently, Brown made some comments about the city of Boston that have people questioning whether he’s willing to make it his long-term home. 

If he isn’t, the Celtics may want to act quickly. Brown is due for unrestricted free agency after next season. If the Celtics lose him and get nothing in return, it’ll be a disaster. 

Why not get Anunoby and a pair of first-round picks? That’s a great return for a player who’s already leaving.

If that’s the situation the Celtics are in, they should take this deal. If nothing else, it helps them avoid tanking.
