Why The Golden State Warriors Do The Deal 

Success usually comes at a  cost. The Warriors are no exception. 

In fact, they’re paying the luxury tax even with Green’s current salary. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins are all significant cap hits. Next season, Jordan Poole’s extension will kick in, too. 

Still, the Warriors can’t afford to give Green away. That’s not what they’re doing here. They may be targeting Nurkic because he’s on a reasonable, cost-controlled contract, but the Warriors should find some use for the bruising big man. 

Still, the Warriors are mainly thinking about the future here. At 23, Little has the potential to occupy Green’s role in Golden State long-term.
