When an NBA team fails to meet expectations, it’s popular to suggest that they ought to start rebuilding.
Is that always the answer? Sometimes, a team is talented, and just lacking in one area or another. One major trade could get them exactly where they’re looking to be.
For example, look at the Toronto Raptors. This team is not lacking talent. In fact, if you looked at their roster alone, you’d assume they were a playoff team.
They may be lacking a primary playmaker. The Raptors could use a guard who can create offense regularly in half-court sets.
If they had one, they’d probably get right back to the playoffs.
Could that guard be Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks?
