Why The Chicago Bulls Do The Deal
It’s been a very disappointing season for the Bulls.
So disappointing, in fact, that many of their fans would prefer to see them blow up their core. There’s some logic in that. At the same time, one change could make all of the difference.
A change like, for example, swapping a poor rim protector for an elite one. That’s the main objective of this deal. The Bulls are gambling that LaVine and DeRozan could carry an offense alone, and that it’s worth the defensive tradeoff to bring in Gobert.
With that said, Gobert isn’t a zero on offense. He’s an elite screen setter and pick-and-roll finisher.
