Why The Golden State Warriors Do The Deal
The Warriors have a couple of reasons to do this deal.
The first one is simple – it probably makes them a better team. In all likelihood, Anunoby would replace Draymond Green as this team’s starting 4. Meanwhile, Green would replace Poole as a sixth man.
Granted, he’d be a different type of sixth man. Still, the Warriors could find ample time for Green, both as a backup 4 and alongside Anunoby and Andrew Wiggins in what could be the deadliest Death Lineups yet.
On the other hand, the Warriors also have financial motives for doing this deal. Boucher is relatively cheap, while Anunoby is in a contract year.

Following next season, they’ll have the choice of letting Anunoby walk, or re-signing him – and, in all likelihood, trading Green.
Should the Raptors give the Warriors that kind of flexibility?
