The Washington Wizards were the recipients of bad luck when John Wall got injured. This was a solidly competitive team that could have built towards something greater. When Wall got hurt, it was the beginning of the end. 

The Sacramento Kings had some potential during the Demarcus Cousins era, too. Unfortunately, the big man had his own injury problems.

Unlike Wall, he healed – but the relationship between him and the Kings never did.

Still, the organizations are also accountable. The Kings chose Marvin Bagley III over Luka Doncic and Trae Young in the draft. Meanwhile, the Wizards should have probably traded Beal shortly after trading Wall.
