There are NBA franchises that never seem to be in the running for the championship.
For whatever reason, they just never seem to reach that level. Some teams are perennial powerhouses, and others seem to come and go. Unfortunately, some teams never seem to arrive at all.
Take the Washington Wizards. The last time this team was in the title picture, Wes Unseld was throwing outlet passes. Now, the departed legend’s son is the team’s head coach.
It hasn’t been that long since the Sacramento Kings were contenders. This team had title hopes in the 90s.
With that said, where the Wizards have been mediocre for a long time, the Kings have been dreadful. This season, they’ve changed that in a major way.
Could they change it even more radically by acquiring Bradley Beal from the Wizards this summer?
