Why The Miami Heat Do The Deal 

It’s difficult to say. After all, Embiid and Butler only spent one season together in Philadelphia. 

Moreover, they spent it alongside Ben Simmons. He’s a complicated player to work with. As talented as he is, his presence on a team disqualifies them as a sample size in some respects. 

There is no non-shooting primary ball-handler on the Heat. Embiid would be joining Butler on a well-rounded team full of professionals. He could make them the best team in the NBA in the process. 

After all, Embiid is one of the league’s best players. There’s no especially complicated logic at play here for the Heat.
