Firstly, the Raptors do this deal if Anunoby really is unhappy in Toronto. If those rumors hold true, this is a no-brainer. 

Even if they don’t, it might be the right move. This team is stacked with two-way, defensive wings. On the other hand, they’re a little light on half-court creation. 

Alperen Sengun has star potential in that regard. As a sophomore, he’s already one of the best passing big men and low post scorers in the NBA. The Raptors could use his creation abilities. 

They could also cover up for his defensive limitations. Even after losing Anunoby, they’ll have Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes to compensate for Sengun’s shortcomings on that end.
