Of course, this one is purely hypothetical at the moment. Hachimura is a restricted free agent this summer, so this deal would have to come by way of sign-and-trade. 

We don’t know what Hachimura will make ops the open market, either. He hasn’t had the most productive NBA career. Still, at 25, he’ll be partly paid on the basis of potential. 

In all likelihood, he’ll have an average annual income in the neighborhood of $15-20 million. That should be enough to make this deal viable. It’s also a good deal for both sides. 

After all, a rebuilding team like the Indiana Pacers could stand to gamble on his upside.
