With all of that being said, nobody would say the Charlotte Hornets have the best young core in the NBA. 

That’s not necessarily a knock on their roster. Their core group just isn’t necessarily young. The Hornets opted to surround Ball with quality veterans as soon as his talent became apparent. 

Perhaps that’s been a problem. After all, there are young players on this roster. They just aren’t getting opportunities.

Players like James Bouknight, Kai Jones, and JT Thor are buried at the back of this team’s rotation.
