Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal 

Up until recently, the Nets were the perfect example of the other extreme of NBA team building. 

None of their key players were drafted. Still, with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden on the roster, what did it matter? 

Of course, you know the history. That trio of stars is all elsewhere. Now, the Nets are at a precipice. They could rebuild, or they could continue forward in win-now mode. 

This deal ought to suit them either way. Williams is already a quality contributor – even if he’s a downgrade from Finney-Smith, he’s good. Meanwhile, he’s young enough that in a year or two, he could exceed Finney-Smith’s production.
