Hield may be a better shooter than Dort. The gap on the defensive end is wider.
Hield is solid on that end of the floor. Dort is outstanding. This is one of the best young defensive wings in the NBA.
Emphasize “young” there. Again, the Pacers make a habit of acquiring young players who fit their roster. Dort qualifies – as a 3-and-D wing, he realistically fits alongside any player in the NBA.
The Pacers would make no exception. Meanwhile, they save a little cap space in the short term with this deal too.
