Some say that opposites attract. Does the same hold true in the NBA?

If two teams have opposite ways of operating, are they more likely to find common ground in a trade? 

For example, suppose one team seems to highly covet first-round picks. By contrast, suppose another team seems to prefer building through acquiring players who are already in the league.

Shouldn’t those competing interests mean the two sides are good candidates to strike a deal? 

The Oklahoma City Thunder love draft capital. On the other hand, the Indiana Pacers seem to prefer trading for young players. With that in mind, the two sides could make a trade this summer.
