Why The Charlotte Hornets Do The Deal
The Hornets may not like this deal. It’s been rumored that this front office believes it would be having a much different season with consistent health from LaMelo Ball.
That is possible. On the other hand, the Hornets haven’t exactly been world-beaters with Ball in the rotation, either. This team simply isn’t ready to compete.
With that in mind, why not flip Rozier for a pair of first-round picks? This is exactly the type of future-focused package a rebuilding team should be looking at.
Meanwhile, there’s some sense in acquiring Lowry, too. He may be past his prime, but he should be able to help this team’s second unit. More broadly, he could be an ideal mentor for Ball.
