Apparently, there’s some discord between player and the organization here. If that’s truly the case, the Hawks may entertain moving Young before the situation becomes irredeemable.
In that event, this is a good return. The Hawks are getting one of the best 3-and-D wings in the NBA in Anunoby, and another impact defender in Achiuwa. Add in three first-round picks, and that’s a solid return.
More broadly, this deal helps Atlanta establish a new identity. Suddenly, they’d be fielding lineups without a defensive weakness.
