Why The Detroit Pistons Do The Deal
Well, we can’t actually tell you what the Pistons’ front office would be thinking. We can only tell you what we think.
Frankly, we think Towns would be a good fit with this roster. As constructed, they’re built around a pair of playmakers in their backcourt in Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey. It feels safe to assume they’d both thrive alongside one of the best stretch big men in NBA history.
This may not result in immediate contention. Towns is a poor defender – the Pistons would need time to acquire a pair of 3-and-D wings to start alongside him and their backcourt.
Perhaps they’d move one (or both) of Jalen Duren or James Wiseman to get them. Some Pistons fans will argue that it’s too early to think about such moves.
