Why The Toronto Raptors Do The Deal 

If it does, it does so indirectly. This deal doesn’t make the Raptors better in 2023-24. That’s fine.

This team has looked woefully mediocre this season – they could justify rebuilding measures. 

This deal offers them a fresh start. Kuminga isn’t nearly as impactful as Anunoby right now, but he’s got a higher ceiling. He also fits the bill of the type of two-way wing the Raptors seem to covet.  

Of course, so does Anunoby. At the same time, rumors continue to persist about his unhappiness with the organization.

If they hold true, flipping him for Kuminga, two first-round picks, and a swap would be a sensible decision.
